What’s coming up in Patch 1.3 of SWTOR!

Game Update 1.3 for Star Wars: The Old Republic is just around the corner! That means new features and content will be coming to SWTOR soon.

Because Game Update 1.2 was their major update, it would be more than likely that the following update (1.3) will be a much smaller patch. This does not mean that nothing new is coming though! Bioware is actually adding some key features that I believe will improve the game entirely!

So, if you’ve opened up your Legacy menu in game, you may have noticed there is a “Coming Soon” tab. If you click that tab, you’ll see a bunch of items and enhancements that you can purchase! Unfortunately, these aren’t available currently. Although they will be available when Game Update 1.3 comes out! These items and enhancements can be used to improve various things including your Companions affection, the amount of XP you gain, and there is even an item that will increase your Sprint speed!

The second new feature coming in 1.3 is the ability to add augment slots to your gear! So, instead of having to “Crit Craft” custom gear in order to gain an augment slot, you can now add it to any piece of gear you want! Since 1.3 has yet to be released, I’m not entirely aware of how expensive this will be but it would be safe to assume that it will be quite costly!

The third new feature being added to SWTOR in 1.3 is the LFG Tool! Using this tool, you’ll be able to select the Flashpoint and/or Operation you want to complete, and what role you’d like to play in the group! (Healer/Tank/DPS) This will definitely make finding groups a lot easier and faster, especially on lower population servers!

This next update is not a guarantee, but there is a possibility that Ranked Warzones could be coming in 1.3! If you weren’t aware, these were set to release on Game Update 1.2, but had to be delayed as they weren’t complete. Bioware hasn’t told us what the time frame on these are, but it would be safe to assume that they will either be in Update 1.3, or 1.4!

SWTOR – Corellia – Black Hole Dailies

Game Update 1.2 has added new content to the game, including Level 50 Daily quests that can be completed on Corellia, in the “Black Hole” area!

So, if you’re level 50, and are in desperate need of some credits, be sure to complete these dailies as they give you 7,000(possibly more) credits per completion! Aside from credits, you will also receive “Daily Commendations” which you can turn in for items!

There are five dailies in total, plus one Area quest, which you will automatically pick up as you progress through your dailies. You may have guessed, that these quests can only be completed once per day.

Before you can start completing these dailies, however, you’ll have to travel to the Imperial (or Republic) Fleet to talk to either Sergeant Karloss if you’re Empire, or interact with the Holonet Terminal if you’re Republic. Once you do that, you can head to corellia and take the shuttle to the Black Hole!

That’s pretty much all you need to know! Once you reach the Black Hole, you should be able to complete the dailies with ease. Have fun!

Rakghoul Invasion – Vendor Location and How to get DNA Samples fast!

It’s flu season in Star Wars: the Old Republic! That’s because of the Rakghoul Invasion world event currently taking place in SWTOR. In this case, getting sick is a good thing! Since you can earn cool rewards including a Rakghoul pet, and a green and black color crystal for your weapon!

To earn these cool rewards, you have a choice between completing dailies scattered around the planet, Tatooine. Or, continuously exploding from the rakghoul virus. Although completing dailies sounds like the smarter choice, it’s not the most efficient choice.

By completing dailies and “exploding” yourself, you’ll gain things called “DNA Samples,” once you get enough of these DNA Samples, you can trade them in for rewards from a vendor in Tatooine! (See video below for Vendor Location)

If you’re looking for a fast way to earn DNA Samples, be sure to visit your factions fleet and join the group of people standing near the spawn point in your fleet! Everytime someone explodes, you’ll be infected with the Rakghoul virus. If you’re patient, and continue standing there, eventually you’ll explode! This will earn you 5 DNA Samples. You can continue to do this until you have enough DNA Samples to buy your reward. Although this might not be very exciting, it’s definitely the fastest way to earn your DNA samples.

 

Be sure to purchase your rewards by April 24th, 2012 because that’s when the event ends!

New SWTOR 1.2 Patch – Good or Bad? Take the poll.

There has been some mixed messages prior to the release of the 1.2 patch. When you browse forums and comments it seemed half of the people where thinking it would be good and the others seemed a bit negative.

Now that the SWTOR 1.2 patch has been out for a few days…it would be cool to get players opinions.

It’s been said that SWTOR has been the most successful MMO to be released to date. I don’t have a poll for that but it would be cool to get your feedback below.

Anyways. Are you happy with the new patch or do you feel that Bioware is ripping you off with your monthly subscriptions.
